Malong Ring Handed 2019 CECAFA Assignment

South Sudan International Assistant referee Malong Ring Nyer has been handed a role at the 2019 CECAFA Men’s Senior Challenge Cup games to be hosted in Uganda as one of the Center referees. Ring will be the only referee CECAFA secretariat has picked some South Sudan.

Recently the continental football governing body (CAF) appointed Ring Nyier Akech Malong as center referee to officiate the 2019/2020 second leg CAF Confederations Cup match number No.104 between Triangle FC of Zimbabwe and FC Nouadhibou of Mauritania, he was assisted by Gasim Madir Dehiya and Duwuki Robert Henry as the first and second assistant Referees respectively.

Ring Nyier Akech Malong as also the center referee during the CAF Confederations Cup 2019/20 fixture round of 32 between AS Kigali (Rwanda) and Proline FC of Uganda on 14th September in Kigali, Rwanda.

Malong will be among 9 other center referees called up to officiate at the 2019 CECAFA Men’s Senior Challenge Cup 2019, other includes Thierry Nkurunziza from Burundi, Alex Muhabi-Uganda, Omar Abdulkadir- Somalia, Mitiku Tewordos-Ethiopia, Sabri Mohamed Fadul Amam-Sudan, Diraneh Guedi-Djibouti, Teklu Mogos-Eritrea, Anthony Ogwayo-Kenya.

Assistants includes, Joshua Achila- Kenya, Suleiman Bashir-Somalia, Haule Mbarka Haule-Zanzibar, Micahel Eyobel-Eritrea, Balikowa Musa-Uganda, Chacha Ferdinand- Burundi, Ahmed Nagi Subahi-Sudan, Abdurazak Ahmed Liban- Djibouti, Tigle Gizaw Belachew-Ethiopia.

South Sudan has only 2 international Centre referees and 4 assistant referees according to the recent FIFA referees list with Malong Ring Nyier Akech and James Alier Michael as the only center referees meanwhile DAU Daniel Dau, DEHIYA Gasim Madir, HENRY Duwuki Robert and OLIBO George Primato as assistant referees in South Sudan respectively.

The CECAFA Men’s Senior Challenge Cup 2019 tournament will have games in group A,B, and C with group matches to be played in Kampala Uganda after CECAFA confirming that the Women U-17 competition will be staged in Jinja at the FUFA Technical center in Njeru.
