Former El-Merriekh striker, Justin Juma headed in the only goal of the game that separated the two sides in the final minutes of the three extra time after normal minutes of play on Saturday at Jamus Playing Ground, Munuki.

El-Merriekh who has lost to Rabita in all the recent three meetings, had a chance to take the lead when Khamis Leon was brought down in the 76th minute but Abugo missed the resulting spot kick.

Ramadan John, the Bright Stars goalkeeper comfortably saved Abugo’s direct penalty which proved crucial in getting their first ever win of the season in Juba Local League after week 6 of actions.

“I told the players to play long balls which made it had for El-Merriekh defenders to deal with. The opponents ran out of breath in the last 15 minutes of the game”, Ramzi Sebit Lumeri, Rabita FC head Coach told www.Kurrasports.com after the game.

The South Sudan Cup Champions have lost three of their opening six fixtures of the local league, drawn twice and securing the only win against El-Merriekh.

Coach Ramzi will be hoping to build on the win when they face Munuki FC next Saturday and go to the transfer window break high in confidence.

In the other fixture of the day, Munuki humbled Gudele 4-1 at Buluk Playing Ground, thanks to goals from Mutawakil (2), Angelo Angu and Dvrille Alex.
