Three Kick Boxers To Represent South Sudan in Khartoum

South Sudan kick boxing coach Puro Okelo Obob has confirmed to Kurra Sports that three (3) kick boxers will be jetting out to the Sudanese city of Khartoum to represent the country in a one day kick boxing competition.

The event which is organized by the Sudan Kickboxing Association will attract competitors of 66kg, 73kg, and 76kg from Kenya, Burundi and Sudan respectively.

South Sudan will be represent by Simon Sudan who will be competing in 66kg category, James Majok Gau the K1 champion and Elia Ladu Moga aka Lodule will be competing in the 73kg and 76kg respectively.

The competition which is named as Under Ground Pan African MMA (Mix Muscle Art) fight will see Simon Sudan, James Majok and Elia Ladu Moga competing with Burundi, Kenya and Sudanese opponents.

According to Okelo, the fight will climax on Saturday 14th December 2019, and the team will return to Juba on Sunday 15th December 2019.

“This is the 5th time the Sudan kickboxing association is organizing such a wonderful event, however it will be the first time for South Sudan to take part”, said Puro. “All the tickets and Visas are ready as the whole event was organized by the SKBA, they catered for all the expenses including transport, feeding, and accommodation, but I have to only pay 12,000ssp each as Visa fee for the 3 participants plus me the coach”, Puro added.

Okelo also confirmed that the team will be travelling on Wednesday 11th December 2019, from Juba to Addis Ababa, then to Khartoum with the same return routes as per the ticket booked.

Pura and his Tripple A kickboxing club has been active in 2017 and 2018 taking the players to compete in so many regional organized competitions with the other being held in 2017 at Nyakuron Cultural center against Ugandan kick boxing team which ended in a draw. The South Sudan fighters includes Yohana John Dimo 58kg, Simon Sudan Bole 64kg, James Majok 70kg, Joseph Pio Liwa 73kg and Taban Juma 55kg competition respectively, while the Uganda contingent was represented by Sadat Oga as the coach and the players includes Ivan Koreta 73kg, Mukawgo Muhammad 58kg, Ngabo Michael 67kg and Seruganda Locus 64kg among others.
