The South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) has on Friday 14th February 2020 signed a five years Memorandum of Collaboration (MoC) with the Qatar Football Association (QFA).
In a brief ceremony held in Doha, the Deputy President of Qatar Football Association, Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Mohannadi signed on behalf of the Qatar FA, while Francis Amin Michael, the SSFA President Francis Amin Michale signed on behalf of the South Sudan Football Association also put pen to paper.
According to the details of the MoU, it will focus more on capacity building. Al Mohannadi said the MoU with South Sudan Football Association will help in building cooperation with the Aspire Academy and the Jasoor Institute for Capacity Development.
The parties agreed to cooperate with each other in order to develop strong ties between their respective associations for the mutual benefit of each association and for the promotion, growth and continued success of football in each country.
“We are very happy about this MoU because it will help us develop our capacity in South Sudan,” said Amin.
The MoU also focused on cooperation in more than one major field, in terms of technical and professional exchanges, national teams and exchange of experiences (including coaching education and developing young talent), and also taking advantage of the successful and numerous experiences of Qatari football, including the Aspire Academy and the Sports Medicine Hospital Aspetar.
Other exchange programs include: Management, Marketing, Promotional Activity, Sport Facilities, Study and Research, Technical and conditioning coaching, Referees, Football management and Technical Direction, Game development and talented player development, Women’s Football, Youth Football among others.
He acknowledged that the support by the Qatar Football Association will help strengthen the capacities of South Sudanese sportsmen and women.
The SSFA President Mr Francis Amin Michale winded up the Qatar visit by watching the Total CAF Super Cup match between Esperance of Tunisia and Egypt’s Zamalek at the Thani bin Jassim Stadium.
