AFCON 2021 QUALIFIERS: Benin Referees To Officiate South Sudan Versus Uganda Match In Khartoum, Sudan

Continental football governing body, Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed experienced referees from Benin to officiate the match day 4 of the African Cup of Nations group B encounter against neighbours Uganda on the 31st March 2020. 

Centre referee Djindo Louis Houngnandande shall be assisted by Gbèmassiandan Narcisse Kouton and Eric Ayimavo Ayamr Ulrich as the first and second assistant referees respectively.

The fourth official of this clash shall be Adissa Abdul Raphiou Ligali whereas the match commissioner will be  Amir Abdi Hassan from Somalia.

Both referees have been some of the most experienced officiatros in the continent, with both having numerous assignments in CAF Inter Club competition in 2019. Centre referee Djindo Louis Houngnandande officiated the CAF confederations Cup game between Paradou AC of Algeria and KCCA FC of Uganda game in Kampala. 

Group B of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualification tournament is one of the 12 groups that will decide the teams which qualify for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations finals tournament. The group consists of four teams: Burkina Faso, Uganda, Malawi, and South Sudan (winner of preliminary round). 

The teams will play against each other in home and away round robin format between November 2019 and September 2020.

South Sudan is currently at the bottom of group B after losing its 2 opening matches to Malawi away (1-0) and at home (2-1) to Burkina Faso a game which was played in Khartoum, Sudan at the Khartoum National Stadium.  

The game against Uganda will be a must win for Bright Stars if they need to gain clear chances of going to Cameroon in January 2021. However with the Locally based players set for non residential training since 17th February 2020, coach Besong troops seemed to be looking forward for a trigger against any of their group B opponents this time round.
