JUBA LOCAL LEAGUE: Ouma gets win on debut game as Atlabara FC Head Coach

Defending Champions Atlabara FC overcame early scare from Al-Hilal to hand new Kenyan tactician, Michael Ouma Nam perfect start at the helm on Saturday 1st March, 2020.

Bright Stars’ midfielder, Samuel Tombe gave lead to the Blue Skies just 25 minutes into the game from penalty spot after Atlabara Captain, Stephen Lawrence committed a foul in the area.

Ouma, who holds CAF A coaching license called Jimmy Michael off the bench along elegant midfielder Jimmy Tombe and both players won the game for defending Champions.

Scopas Abugo found unmarked Tombe with his curling corner-kick to head the equalizer five minutes after coming off the bench before his fellow substitute Jimmy turned provider for Mandela Malesh’s winning goal in 85th minute.

Atlabara FC management confirmed the appointment of Ouma to www.Kurrasports.com after the game against Al-Hilal.

Ouma, who also holds international coaching diploma in Brazilian coaching methodology from University of Sports in Hungary and British coaching license level 2 under FA and UEFA advanced foundation course, will be in charge of Atlabara until the end of the current season according to sources from the club.

The Kenyan tactician has largely coached in his native country, helping Homegrown FC to promotion to the Kenyan Premier League in 2010 and coming close to replicating the feat with Agro Chemical in 2012.

Nam had also spells with Posta Rangers and FC Talanta all in Kenya before moving to Uganda’s top flight side Vipers FC in 2018.

He was appointed interim boss of Venoms on 30th December, 2018, 24-hours after sacking of Mexican Martin Javier Martinez Espinoza, just five months into his appointment.

Ouma spent 203 days as Coach of the former Uganda Premier League Champions Vipers, overseeing 21 games, winning 9, drawing 8 and lost 4 games.

The 47-year-old has been free agent since leaving Vipers on 22nd July, 2019 and Juba-based club have been strongly linked to him in the past.

His immediate challenge is to retain the league title with six games remaining and five point gap with the current table leaders Amarat United.

Ouma’s next fixture is against old rivals, Malakia FC under guidance of former Atlabara FC player and assistant Coach, Simon James Yor on 7th March, 2020 at Jamus playing ground.
