The South Sudan Basketball Federation (SSBF) with the help of Zain South Sudan, has conducted an array of FIBA Technical Official workshops to help gain more qualified personnel domestically.
The workshops helped train 10 table officials, 18 referees, 23 coaches, 8 doctors and 4 photographers. In total 63 teammates were able to complete the FIBA online coursework where 41.2% of them were women!
Secretary General, Marier Anyuat who was present during the workshop notes the importance of growing the game off the court which is very important to the Federation.

The courses were conducted online with FIBA to ensure the relevant qualifications were gained where we are delighted to see so many gain incredible knowledge and expertise from the workshops.
SSBF now is in coordination with FIBA Africa to organize licensing training, allowing SSBF to have qualified officials for the upcoming games locally and internationally.
President Luol Deng is really happy that these types of courses are happening to grow the game of Basketball in South Sudan.

The national basketball governing body is looking forward to reigniting a national league which will be based in the capital Juba.
