A-League club Western United Football Club have confirmed that South Sudan/ese and club forward Valentino Yuel have been left out of the club’s 2020/2021A-League season.
According to the club, Valentino Yuel, Thierry Iradukunda, Oskar Dillon and Patrick Antelmi will depart the club as they are looking forward to the new season.
The General Manager of Football Mr. Ante Kovacevic has on behalf of the club thanked the players for their contributions to the club’s inaugural season.
“On behalf of the club, I’d like to thank all four players for their effort and contribution to our inaugural season,” Kovacevic said. “Yuel, Iradukunda, Dillon and Antelmi will forever be names written in the history books of Western United.”
Yuel is yet to feature for the South Sudan Senior National Team, although he was part of the 23 man squad summoned in March 12th 2020 by national team coach Ashu Cyprian Besong to face Uganda in a fixture that was eventually cancelled due to the COVID_19 pandemic.
The 25 years old Valentino joined Western United from Bentleigh Greens in 2019 playing nine games and scoring nil. The utility attacker also played for Adelaide City Football Club among others in the A-League.
The A-League which is known as the Hyundai A-League for sponsorship reasons is the national level soccer in Australia, which was established in 2004
The regular season commenced on 11 October 2019 and was scheduled to conclude on 26 April 2020, though was postponed to 19 August 2020 as a result of the COVID_19 pandemic. The pandemic caused Football Federation Australia (FFA) to suspend the season from late March to mid July.
