South Sudan Forward To Prioritize Playing For Club Badge Instead Of Name

South Sudan senior national team forward and former Vipers Sports Club, Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) FC and BUL FC winger now at Kenya Premier League record champions Gor Mahia FC, Tito Okello, has vowed to prioritize playing for the club badge instead of his name.

Revealed this while having an interview with club media.

“I am not a media loving guy and I do my work knowing there are a lot of expectations and, of course, that is something to expect especially when in a team like Gor Mahia.”

“I don’t work for my name I work for the badge that’s what I want the fans to know. I will fight for the club first then  my name will come later. let them expect the best from me.”

Tito Okello said  that he has realised  his dreams at the club’s he has played for previously and joining K’ogalo is also a dream come true and vows to work hard.

“From my side, it’s pleasure joining a team like Gor Mahia because it has been one of my dream clubs, I have been dreaming to play for a big team and it has come true now.” He added.

“I always work hard to achieve my dream and when I was young I used to work and watch KCCA FC and I was like oh’ my dream is to play for KCCA and indeed I achieved it.

“I dreamt of playing for Vipers and I was there. Gor Mahia were one the teams  so it’s a pleasure being here because I see it’s like God is paving the way for me.“With hard work, I think everything will be ok.

Tito Okello was among a bunch of players that kicked off a train amidst the cold weather environment in Nairobi city this week, and said there is not much difference between the one in Uganda and is very optimistic he is getting accustomed to it slowly. “The environment is not very much different from that of Uganda,” said Tito. 

“The weather is a little bit different though because it is cold and I have spent a lot of time indoors but yes I am getting accustomed to it slowly.

“With time, I will get used to it especially because  I have always loved the  place, Nairobi City and so hopefully, I think I will catch up so fast.

Tito was summoned by Bright Star head coach Ashu Cyprian Besong and will be joining the South Sudan national team on Thursday 24th September 2020 as part of the squad to prepare ahead of the Cameroon Intermediate friendly game on the 10th September, 2020 in Yaounde.  

It should be noted that the Bright Stars which started training on Sunday 13th September, 2020 will be flying to Yaounde Cameroon for a 10 days camping before playing the Cameroon Team A ( Intermediate Lions) in an international friendly, the Bright Stars will also play PWD Bamenda on the 07th October, 2020 in a warm up friendly game before facing the Intermediate Lions on 10th October 2020.
