As the Bright Stars were on their preparatory trip to Cameroon on Sunday 4th October 2020, the South Sudan’s Vice President who also doubles as the Gender and Youth Cluster (include Ministries of Gender, Child and Social Welfare; Culture and Heritage, Youth, and Sports) , H.E. Rebecca Nyandeng De Mabior has on Sunday 4th October , 2020 donated United States Dollars Ten Thousand (10,000).
This developments came after a delegation from the South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) headed by Mr. Francis Amin, SSFA’s Board of Directors were invited by the Vice President to wish and bid a farewell to the Bright Stars ahead of their journey to represent the country in a friendly match against Cameroon.
H.E the vice President applauded SSFA’s role in developing sport in the Country, encouraging the players to double their effort and raise the flag of South Sudan higher. Mama Rebecca assures the association government’s effort to allocate a budget for sports activities in the Country, adding that her office is going to work closely with youth to develop sports.
Meanwhile, Mr. Francis Amin, the president of South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) appreciated H.E Rebecca Nyandeng De Mabior for her support towards sport’s development in the Country.
“I’m very pleased to present #SSFA’s logo to Mama Rebecca Nyandeng de Mabior, the vice President of South Sudan yesterday; I’d also like to appreciate her for assuring to include sports in the Country’s budget this will tremendously boost sports’ development.”
The South Sudan national football team left for Cameroon on Sunday 4th October, 2020 abroad Ethiopian Airlines at 5:30pm. The team will play the Cameroon Intermediate Team A on 10th and 13th October 2020, after playing PWD Bamenda on 7th October 2020.
