The Federation of International Basketball Association (FIBA) has released the WILD CARD fixtures for the Afrobasket 2021 group prequalification round.
South Sudan will be up against Cape Verde, and Chad in the tournament in the Cameroonian administrative capital of Yaounde from October 23-25. The winner of this event will join Group E with Egypt, Morocco and Uganda in Alexandria from November 27-29.
As presented with a second chance to qualify for the FIBA AfroBasket 2021, the South Sudan basketball federation is working around the clock to prepare their team ahead of the Pre-Qualifiers from October 23-25 in Yaounde, Cameroon.
The Bright Stars fixture will be against Cape Verde Island on 23rd October 2020 a game they will have to register a big margin of win and display before meeting Chad on 24th October 2020 both games kicks off at 6:00pm local time
The Yaounde Sports Complex in Cameroon will serve as the arena where Cape Verde, Chad and South Sudan will tussle for a ticket to make it to the last round of Qualifiers for the FIBA AfroBasket 2021.
South Sudan are gunning for a maiden appearance at the FIBA AfroBasket. A first attempt at getting to the Qualifiers had proven unsuccessful with a 74-68 defeat to Kenya and a 4-1 slate during the Pre Qualifiers in January.
All three teams were handed wildcards with the games to be played from October 22-24, 2020 in Cameroon’s administrative capital Yaounde.
The winner of the WILDCARD tournament will take on Egypt, Morocco and Uganda in Group E of the Qualifiers from November 27-29 in Alexandria.
