South Sudan National Team Expected To Safely Return Home From Cameroon

The South Sudan Contingent while in Cameroon

The South Sudan national team 30 contingent composed of players, SSFA administrator and coaching staff will on this afternoon Friday 16th October, 2020 be landing at Juba International Airport from Cameroon enroute Ethiopia capital Addis Ababa at 4:00pm aboard Ethiopian Airlines following a successful outing against the Cameroon Intermediate team. 

The Bright Stars in a warm match lost to PWD Bamenda by 3-0, however held the national CHAN team of Cameroon to a two goalless arranged fixtures, with Gor Mahia FC forward making his debut for the national team.

The team which landed at Bole International Airport Addis Ababa on Thursday 15th October, 2020 evening was hosted in a Hotel before making their next booking for Juba, including the injured Munuki FC attacking midfielder Stephen Pawaar, Wani Ivan Marcello and Atlabara FC Juba attacking right winger Jimmy Omer Michael. 

Head coach Ashu Cyprian Besong who applauded his troops for the efforts and hardwork put up while in Cameroon will give the players a break of one week before regrouping ahead of the Uganda Cranes double header in November 2020.

Besong has also urged the players to keep working harder if they are to be considered for the upcoming 2022 AFCON qualification double header against Uganda in November 2020. 

South Sudan will be hosted away by Uganda on 12th November 2020 at St Mary’s Stadium before traveling to Khartoum for the home match a few days later.

The South Sudan National Team contingent that will return to Juba this afternoon includes.
