Livingword FC brushed aside a well-drilled City Stars side to set up a date against Salam in the last 16 round of the Rumbek Local Football Association – South Sudan Cup. The team showed they meant business right from the first whistle and created numerous goalscoring opportunities troubling the City Stars defense in the process.

The first goal arrived in the 9th minute of the match when James Laat converted from the penalty spot after Riel Jam was felled by City Stars goalkeeper during a one-on-one situation. Riel would shortly add a second goal on the 14th minute benefiting from Bith Mayek’s pass, more action followed however neither side was able to find the back of the net in the remaining part of the contest and the game eventually ended 2-0 to Livingword FC.

Livingword will face Salam on 8th February 2021 with quarterfinal spot on the line. Other teams that have sealed their progress to the last 16th round so far include Maborngap FC, Tahrir and Ronga United.
