The Rumbek Local Football Association South Sudan Cup 2021 edition enters the semi final stage on saturday 20th February 2021 and presents a battleground for the four top teams in Rumbek football in the names of Zalan FC, Gold Star FC, Holy Family FC and Pentecost FC (SPC FC).
The first semi-final fixture will bring together Zalan FC and Gold Star FC as they set to face each other on Saturday 20th February. Zalan bowed out at the quarter final stage of the completion in last year’s encounter losing to Akuac United FC, the team they defeated at the same stage this year to progress through to the semis, however Gold Star FC areon their familiar grounds having made it to the same stage last year before losing to Pentecost in the semi final.
Meanwhile the second semi final match will see defending champions Holy Family FC taking on last year’s finalist Pentecost – SPC FC. The two teams met in the previous final of the South Sudan Cup with Holy Family winning the tie 2-0 to lift the trophy. The defeat is still fresh in the minds of Pentecost players who will be looking to exact revenge for that loss and book a ticket for the final on 25th February 2021. There is more to play for at this stage and surely the four teams can start to dream of winning the trophy.
The 2021 South Sudan Cup winners will represent Rumbek Local Football Association (RULFA) in the national South Sudan Cup which will be organized by the South Sudan Football Association in a date yet to be communicated.
