The South Sudan Senior National Football Team ‘The Bright Stars” have on Tuesday 15th June 2021 concluded their series of locally arranged practising games with a 4-0 walloping of the Juba All Stars Select Team at Buluk Training Center.
Coached by the Munuki FC Juba head coach Ramsi Sebit Lumeri and assisted by coach Simon James Yor, the select team contained the senior team until the finishing minutes of the 1st half when Valentino Yuel slotted in a briallian shot to go past Amarat United FC Juba goalkeeper Michael Markon to take the half time break into a 1-0 lead for the Bright Stars.
The Ashu Cyprian Besong’s troops who came into the second half strong to disapprove the Juba All Stars Select Team capitalized yet again through Valention Yuel to make it 2-0, Munuki FC Juba sensational midfielder Stephen Pawaar Genk took a brilliant free kick to take the tally to 4-0, before that it was Kator FC Juba midfielder John Anthony who leveled the matter to 3-0. The bright stars would have won the game with 7-0, however clear chances from Abraham Majok, Wol Makueth and Asaad Musa were all intercepted by the hard of the goalkeeper.
The game was also attended by the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) Project Coordinator for Eastern African Countries at FIFA, Mrs. Abigail Lemma Hailemichael
It should be noted that the Bright Stars started their preparatory match against Al Ahly FC of Renk wallpoing them 6-0, before facing Amarat United FC twice winning the first leg 3-0 with the other ending 5-0 , they then played the 2021 South Sudan Cup winners Atlabara FC Juba and eventually winning by 4-0.
The Bright Stars are preparing for an FIFA Arab Cup 2021 preliminary round fixture against Jordan on the 21st June 2021, the match will be played in Qatar as the Qatari Football Association is using the tournament to test the infrastructure ahead of the FIFA World Cup in 2022.
Head Coach Ashu Cyprian Besong who is yet to release his final 23 man squad, will be in the company of Kator FC Juba head coach James Ezekiel Milla as his assistant coach, Narcisse Tinkeu as Fitness Coach, Shakir Selim as Goalkeeping Coach, Kwacakwan Ajalong as Team Doctor, Lodule Martin as Team Doctor and Juma Jenaro as his Kit Manager.
The total of 40 contingent is set to leave Juba for Qatar on Friday 18th June 2021 , the team technical head of delegation will be Emad Abbas, the contingent will include 23 players, 7 technical persons, 1 media personnel from SSFA, Team Manager, and Staff from the office of National Ministry of Youth and Sports and other officers which during the time of writing this story were not able to be disclosed.
