South Sudan Final 22 Man Squad For CECAFA U23 Challenge Cup 2021

The South Sudan U-23 Contingent in Ethiopia

The South Sudan U23 coach James Simon Yor has narrowed down his team squad to only 22 players ahead of the group C encounter against Kenya and Djibouti. Their Group C opening match of the 2021 CECAFA U-23 Challenge Cup at the Bahir Dar International Stadium on Wednesday, 21st July 2021 will be against Kenya

South Sudan’s team is led by head coach Simon James Yor, Fitness coach Nichola Peter Orat Odor, Christo Ramadan Simon, Charles Sebit Gisai, Goalkeeping Coach, Team Doctor, Luagala Emmanuel Joseph, Team Manager and Deng Malek Duang, Kit Manager  as they eye maximum points in the opener to be guaranteed qualification to the semifinals.

The team senior team experience of Amal Atbara forward Aluk Akect Mabior, defender Mutwakil Abdelkarim Abkar of Atlabara FC Juba and U-20 forward Daniel Lual Gumnok who scored a hattrick in 2019 against Burundi in Njeru in their 3-3 draw. 

Atlabara FC Juba skipper Mutwakil Abdelkarim Abkar will captain the team and will be assisted by Busoga United FC lanky left winger Wani Ivan Adebo Marcello.

The 30 man contingent including 22 players, 6 technical team, 1 Media Officer and 1 official (Head of Delegation) left Juba for Ethiopia on Friday 16th July 2021. The team has spent 4 days before their first group C encounter against the emerging stars of Kenya. 

The 22 players includes 2 goalkeepers, 6 defenders, 8 midfielders and 6 forwards
