South Sudan Senior and U-23 National team player Wani Ivan Adebo has crossed from Busoga United FC to arch rivals Bul Football Club as the Jinja based side continues to beef up its squad ahead of the new season.
Wani’s move was confirmed by the club on Monday. “Our fifth signing is Ivan Wani from Busoga United,” BUL FC confirmed via their Social media platforms.
The South Sudanese International who can also play as a left-back joins BUL FC from arch-rivals Busoga United FC.
Wani came through the ranks at Jinja Secondary School, featuring for them in the Copa Coca Cola Championships.
He was part of the school team that won the 2017 National Post Primary Championship in Masaka, eventually emerging as the Most Valuable Players.
He then signed for Maroons FC where he played for one season before moving to Busoga United FC.
According to the club, Wani becomes their fifth signing after goalkeepers Saidi Keni and Hannington Ssebwalunyo joined them earlier.
The others are former Busoga United FC skipper George Kasonko and striker Ibrahim Nsimbe from relegated MYDA FC.
Wani has been a regular player into the South Sudan national team (s) since 2018 after taking part in the AFCON U-23 Zonal Qualifiers aganist Uganda where South Sudan U-23 beat Uganda 2-0 at Juba Stadium with goals from Taku Michael and Mbarara City FC foward Makueth Wol Akeen.
Former South Sudan National Senior team coach Ashu Cyprian Besong recently called up Wani Ivan into the Bright Stars provisional squad that prepared for the aborted FIFA Arab Cup 2021 pre Qualification round fixture against Jordan. However he was ruled out of the final squad due to an injury he picked from the training.
