SSFA Confirms Two Friendly Games For Bright Stars Ahead Of AFCON 2021 Qualifying Match Against Flames Of Malawi

The South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) have on Thursday confirmed that the National Team (Bright Star) will play two friendly matches ahead of the 2021 AFCON Qualifying match against the Flames of Malawi on the 24th March 2021. 

According to SSFA, the Bright Star will face Kenya in a friendly match on March 13th 2021 and Tanzania on a date yet to be revealed as consultations are ongoing on the date of kickoff .

South Sudan head coach Ashu Cyprian Besong and his troops are continuing with preparations and training at Buluk Training Centre ahead of the upcoming AFCON 2021 Qualifying match against Malawi next month on 24th, March 2021.

The team which consists of only locally based players on Wednesday 24th February 2021 beat Amarat United FC by 4-1 in their first practice match played at Buluk Training Center., they will play Munuki FC Juba in their second friendly match on Sunday 28th February 2021. 

The national football governing body has also confirmed that the South Sudan and Malawi game will be played in Khartoum at Al Hilal Stadium in Omdurman due to the untimely completion of the construction works at Juba Stadium. 

In 2021 South Sudan beat Uganda 1-0 at Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi Kenya to pick their first group B win and place them on a compatible chance of making it to Cameroon 2021 Total Africa Cup of Nations which will be staged in 2022.
