Angu James Played For 7 Minutes As His Club Soltilo Bright Stars FC Lost Opening League Fixture To KCCA FC
South Sudan forward Angu James was a used substitute as his club Soltilo Bright Stars FC lost their opening Uganda Premier League fixture at Kavumba Recreational Center to KCCA FC by 2-1 as the Uganda Premier League kicked off on Thursday 3rd Dec, 2020.
The Quick attacker was introduced by coach Baker Mbowa in the 88th Minutes of the game with only 2 minutes left into the end of the normal Ninety minutes.
First half goals from Aheebwa Brain in the 21 minutes and Ssenyonjo Samuel in the 27th minute doubled the lead for the Kassasiro Boys. While Akandwanaho Joseph pulled one for the Kavumba based club in the 83rd minute, something that came late for the team to earn a point or three.
South Sudan’s U-20 forward Loki Emmanuel Peter who was called up for the national team preparation for the just concluded CECAFA U-20 Zonal 2020 Qualifiers, but could not feature as he was isolating.
Angu who was recruited into the club in 2018 is yet to feature for any South Sudan national teams and is looking forward to one day representing his country at an international level.
It should be noted that Bright Stars FC have only won once in their opening game of the season since gaining promotion to the Uganda Premier League in 2013. The win (3-1) came against the prison side Maroon FC during the 2018/19 season. In 8 games so far played, the Stars only managed 1 Win, 2 Draws and 5 losses.
