South Sudan senior national team and Mbarara City FC forward Wol Makueth on Saturday 19th December, 2020 opened his 2020/2021 season scoring sheet as he netted twice against Malaba based club MYDA Football Club for his club to earn a vital away point.
The lanky forward opened his goal account on the 27th minute of the first half to give the Mbarara based club the lead, before scoring his goal of the match on 84th minutes to level 2-2 at the King George Memorial Stadium in Tororo town of Eastern Uganda.
The game which ended in a 3-3 draw showed Mbarara City FC midfielder Bashir Mutanda scoring a late equalizer in the 95th minute to rescue the Ankole Lions, the vital point away from home.
Wol who has been a favorite to South Sudan Bright Stars senior team head coach Ashu Cyprian Besong in the recent Total Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2021 group B match against Uganda and Burkina Faso has been isolating after getting engaged with the South Sudan national team in the recent 1-0 defeat at St Mary’s Stadium and 1-0 win at Nyayo National Stadium at the hands of Uganda Cranes.
Mbarara City FC is currently sitting at number 13 of the 2020/2021 Uganda Premier League table standing with 3 points out of 5 games played so far.
Myada Football Club is also a trade home for South Sudan midfielder and left back Yakubu Ramathan. Yakubu who joined the Malaba based club in the summer transfer window as a free agent after his contract with SC Villa came to an end is yet to feature for the club.
Ramathan is yet to receive a call up into the South Sudan senior team by head coach Ashu Cyprian Beong, however there are reports he might likely going to earn his dream of playing for his parental country of origin soon as the coach is planning for a series of friendly matches in January or February 2021.
In some of the games played on Saturday 19th December 2020, in the Uganda Premier League, South Sudan midfielder Wande Gibson Adinho who started on bench for Onduparaka FC, his team beat Kitara FC 3-1 away, with South Sudan U-20 national team center back Augustine Akoch playing for the entire 90 minutes of the game.
Whereas Express FC beat old bitter rivals SC Villa 1-0 at Wankulukuku Mutesa II Stadium, while the army derby at Bombo ended in a 1-0 win for the UPDF FC.
